School Reunion

5 Years On...

It's crazy how fast times passes and on May 9th of this year, it marked my 5 year anniversary of leaving school. We all got invited to a school reunion and I couldn't wait to go back and see how much of it had remained the same and changed too...

The best part was seeing my friends and having an amazing lunch together reminiscing about the old days. It was also great to see the teachers who were still there and the classrooms we use to sit in. Especially as we walked around, it felt so odd thinking that it had already been 5 years since we last roamed the school grounds and now we are either studying to a graduate degree or working! Here's a few photos to share though :)

(We noticed in the handout that they put in a picture of Susan, Nadine and I in the old common room and by chance in the lunch we were sitting together as well!)

Sitting in our old chemistry seats! Such good memories here :)

Forever an OHS girl and proud!

Thai Restaurant, Oxford

Thaikhun

A new Thai restaurant has opened up in Oxford called Thaikhun and as I have this never ending crave for Thai food, I literally couldn't wait to go visit. My love for Thai food began when I was introduced to it in Thailand on my gap year and ever since, I've been waiting for a place that serves some classic dishes. So its about time a good restaurant opened up!
And no surprises that I was there in the first few weeks of it opening...

The interior was absolutely amazing with the ceiling and walls being filled with typical items you would see in Thailand and it really felt like I was back there again. The staff greeted us with a bow, friendly Thai hello 'Sawadee Ka' and seated us to our very authentic table.

The whole environment felt very much thought of, including the menu that was full of bright colours and mouth-watering food. The best thing was that the food was even more delicious and picture-worthy when it arrived to the table. We ordered just a wide range so we got to taste a bit of everything!

It is so great to see such a great Thai restaurant open in Oxford as it really is one of my favourite cuisines. I couldn't pick a favourite dish, but I always find that pad thai is an all time classic. I cannot wait to go more often with Sam, family and friends and taste more of what is on offer.

Do you know of any local Thai restaurant near you that are worth visiting?
I'd love to hear all about them! So comment below :)

Favourite Fragrance

My Fragrance

I absolutely love perfumes but it does take me a while to find THE one scent I like. So usually discovering new favourites involves many trips to the fragrance counters and leaving with strips of samples.
I did come across one a long time ago that I really liked but I could never find it in any stores and if by chance...whilst taking a trip to Bicester Village, I noticed it!

It is the Incanto Charms perfume by Salvatore Ferragamo and the smell is just my abolsute favourite. Especially for days when I'm feeling a little more fancier, I like to wear it but even for a day at work, I spritz a little over me and it lasts.

Another bonus with this perfume is that the bottle is so pretty!

What is your current favourite perfume?

North Yorkshire

Fountains Abbey & Deer Park

I was recently passing in the north and dropped past to visit my best friend in Northallerton!  She took me to Fountains Abbey and a deer park, which was so beautiful and just had to take lots of photos. Despite not having my camera, I took them on my iPhone to share on my blog. So warning: It is going to be a picture heavy post!

The deer park: So surreal seeing them just wandering around us.

Then walked around Ripon National Trust park to find Fountains Abbey.

As we were walking, we turned around a corner and located just around the bend was the Abbey in the misty rain. Fountains Abbey is the largest standing abbey remains and it was absolutely beautiful seeing it still standing. Even though a lot of the abbey has fallen, a great portion still remains and we were able to walk around to see it all.

It had rained all morning and all afternoon so we began to think that we wouldn't see the sun. But we stayed optimistic and it paid off because as we were heading for lunch, the sun began to shine! So we took our simple picnic to a tree log and sat there whilst enjoying the warm sunshine!

Absolutely loved visiting Northallerton and had such a wonderful time, just wished I could have stayed longer! There apparently is so much more to see as well so I will make sure my next visit is one where I can stay to enjoy it and take more pictures for you all.
I want to say a quick Thank You to Wally though for the T.L.C I needed <3

If you have any recommendations of where to visit in North Yorkshire, please do leave them in the comments below!

Glossybox April

Glam Glossybox April

April's Glossybox was such a lovely Marilyn Monroe theme that looks so pretty, I didn't even want to open it! The box was completely white with a black and white drawing of Marilyn and inside everything was wrapped up in a pale blue theme.

The products inside my glossybox this month were so spring-inspired with some pale colours and bold pieces too. I received a warm lavender body lotion, Colour Club nail varnish in Barely there colour, Lord & Berry lip crayon, Astral moisturiser and kajal pen pop.

As mentioned in the previous Glossybox post, I love nail varnish so I was very happy to see another one in the post this month. The one I received really is a 'barely there' nail varnish and when painted it is a very sheer colour but this is good for when you want to have a more natural look.

The new product is one I like to keep for those days I'm feeling glam and want to have some fun with my look! Its Lord & Berry's crayon lipstick in the colour Kiss. It's such a vibrant colour but works well with my skin tone so I love it! I do need to make sure I have a lip balm underneath though as crayon's can be quite drying.

I already have my go to moisturiser/facial oil and because I have sensitive skin, I don't like to test too many skin products out. I read that this product is good for even acne prone skin though so I decided to try it out. When applying it, it does feel thick and that made me cautious about using it again. However, it did leave my skin feeling very moisturised. I wouldn't quickly swap this product into my go-to skincare routine as it is hard to get use to but I will use it especially when I have dry areas.

The last product is kajal pen pop eyeliner which has a smudging sponge on the end. I've never thought that smokey eyes suit asian mono-lids so I'd never use that end. I did try out the eyeliner once but once was enough because I ended up looking like a panda and had to constantly wipe the black that bled to my lower lid. From my previous eyeliner posts, I did mention that I have problems with eyeliners that smudge to my bottom lid throughout the day and this happens to be one of them!

Overall, it was a great box with some great products! I am waiting to be wow-ed by a product but there have been some keepers but equally some binned products. I still love receiving them in the post though and unpacking them gets me excited each time! However the products displayed on the website definitely seem much more likeable than some of the ones I've been receiving! My hopes are up for future boxes though :D

If you receive the Glossybox subscriptions, I'd love to hear your experiences! So please leave comments below or if you want to hear more about some of the products listed in either this or previous posts.
